What Is The OSM?

The Order of the Sacred Mannerbunde (or the English Brethren of the Order of the Sacred Mannerbunde (formerly), or simply the OSM) is a Pagan community organisation dedicated to the promotion and growth of Germanic Pagan religion. Established in 2022, it was formed by a small group of practising English Pagans as a successor to two prior now-defunct groups – Angelcynn Fyrnsida and Ærra Galdor Fellowship, respectively.

The Order was initially established with the goal of creating a fraternity of monastic monks, but fell quickly to the real world practicalities of detachment in a communal religion - as Paganism is. Our world-view espouses that of orthodox friary; that the Germanic priesthood exists to uphold the spiritual and ethical framework of our living faith, and that they must be an integral - and hands-on - part of the community (the Folk) at large.

The Order emphasises the values of (but are not limited to): sacrifice, well-being, collective responsibility, honour, divine labour, natalist, competition, struggle and, about all, passion. It is the passion for the Gods, and great care for the protection and well-being of the Northern European peoples - that ties the Order to the ethos of Germanic religion.
